Tanzania African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (TanzAWARD)

Tanzania African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (TanzAWARD) is a career development association that was established in 2016 at the University of Dar es Salaam and is hosted at Sugarcane Research Institute, Kibaha, Coast. With the current membership of over 70 AWARD Fellows, Mentors, Fellows’ Mentees, trained and honorary personnel, TanzAWARD works towards attaining a vibrant mass of empowered female agricultural scientists to drive innovative and sustainable agriculture for small scale farmers in Tanzania by 2030.  TanzAWARD seeks to contribute toward increased enrolment of girls in STEM subjects for agricultural research and development and transform gender imbalances in education systems
